The university has a student self-government, which is an integral part of the public governance of the university.
The student self-government ensures the protection of the rights and interests of students and their participation in the management of the higher education institution. Student self-government is carried out directly by students and through student self-government bodies, which are elected through direct and secret voting by students.
The activities are regulated by the Regulations "On the Student Self-Government of the Private Higher Education Institution 'Kharkiv Technological University 'SHAG,'" approved by the decision of the Academic Council of the Private Higher Education Institution 'SHAG' on September 29, 2022 (Protocol No. 3).

President of the Student Council, 3rd-year student of Graphics and Design
"Dear students,
Greetings on behalf of the student self-government!
Our team works diligently to ensure the best student life experience at the university, and we would like to provide you with more details about our work.
First and foremost, I would like to thank each student who has participated in our events and shown interest in the activities of the student self-government. You are the true leaders of our student community, and your active participation makes our university a better place for learning and development.
Furthermore, I want to emphasize that our team, as part of the student self-government, advocates for your interests and rights. We work with the university administration, faculty, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal learning conditions, improve infrastructure, foster cultural, scientific, and sports activities, and provide adequate social support.
Since the beginning of the year, we have organized and conducted events such as competitions, quizzes, and tournaments.
However, our work cannot be effective without your cooperation and support. Therefore, I urge you to be active participants in the student self-government, express your ideas, identify issues, and propose solutions. We are always open to your suggestions and opinions.
Thank you for your attention and support!"
Sincerely, Elizabeth Symonenko President of the Student Council, HTU "IT Step"
The "Dota 2" Tournament took place on April 9th. We managed to make this event not just local to our campus but rather quite large-scale by inviting other branches of IT STEP University to participate. Overall, we were able to attract 10 teams from Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Lviv. Together with the organizing team, we worked on all the rules and intricacies of the project and even secured a grand prize for the tournament winners - 5000 UAH.
The tournament was a great success, so we decided to make it a tradition for our university. Soon, all interested participants will have the opportunity to compete once again for the main prize and the title of the best "Dota 2" team.
On Student Day, we decided to deviate from the usual contests and organized a poker tournament for everyone interested. This format created a lot of excitement among the students, and everyone was thrilled. We dedicated the entire evening to playing and socializing. However, no one managed to defeat the president.
During the winter break, we decided to entertain the students a little and developed three unique quizzes, where everyone had the opportunity to win unique prizes from "IT STEP" partners.
The quizzes covered various topics, giving everyone a chance to showcase their knowledge and enjoy the game.
